Mission Statement
Pipestone Guardians is a community outreach group of local
volunteers. It is not a business. Pipestone Guardians is funded
through Vigils For Humanity. The goal of Pipestone Guardians is
to help people in the Pipestone Area navigate the unique
struggles caused by the current national immigration policies.
Our mission includes helping folks get access to groceries and
medication, helping families find relatives who have been
detained, and to support families and individuals affected in
other practical ways. Pipestone Guardians is an organization
that recognizes the dignity and privacy of all human beings
regardless of race, religion, ethnicity, and gender. Our key
objectives are as follows:
- To serve the Pipestone area safely, with the goal of preserving the dignity and humanity of all human beings.
- To practice nonviolence in every situation.
- To follow all national, state, and local laws.
- To provide reasonable and informed practical aid to families and individuals who are affected by the current immigration policies.
- If present during an incident, to bear witness to detainments and arrests from a safe distance, following the specific protocols outlined in the legal definition of Constitutional Observer without interfering with law enforcement or federal officers.
- To act with honor, compassion, and respect at all times.
